Episode 11: Managing Fear Of Falling

Release Date:

In this episode of Face The Climb podcast, Jen talks about managing the fear of falling in climbing. She goes into rational vs irrational fears. Three possible reasons that could be contributing to your fear: Inexperience, trust in oneself, and control. She then goes into ways to manage your fear of falling in regards to bouldering, sport, and trad. More so in particular to preparations to help ease your mind and fears that could come up for each of those climbing disciplines. This is a long one and if you want to break it up, the first three topics end around 20 minutes and the preparations for the types of climbing start being talked about.  While Jen hits a couple different aspects of managing your fear, this will not end it. Instead hopefully it gets you starting to dive in deeper of what is causing your fear and how to start working towards managing it. Subscribe to the email list to get monthly beta breakdown videos, podcast updates, and climbing person stories.
