3 Easy Strategies for Dealing with Tantrums in Your Classroom

Hi everyone and welcome to this episode of the teaching behavior together podcast, today we are going to chat about dealing with tantrums. Tantrums can be rough in the classroom, they can really disrupt the lesson you are teaching as well as trigger other student behavior. Jumping from 4 to 26 Loans Per Month in Less Than 2 Years

Listen in to Loan Officer Success, with your hosts Mike Cardascia and Erica Homefield, as they’re joined by special guest, Kyla Whitmore.  In this episode, you’ll be taken on the journey of how Kyla went from 4 loans per month to this January, closing an incredible 26 loans, yes, that is twenty-six.  The humble way she shines light on her team and how they have been the forefront of making sure the processes are in place in a way that is solid and reliable, is purely inspiring. Kyla explains why she feels that in this market, especially, communication and truthfully updating all key players in the transaction is an important step in acquiring trust in the processes. The three continue and chat about how she has overcome the hurdle of wanting to be out there on videos within social media, and how it has so greatly impacted her “celebrity status” as Carl White calls it and the way people relate to her through vid

This Is The Revolution

The purpose of this show is to educate people on revolutionary strategy, theory, tactics, and analysis using popular culture. While there are many other podcasts and shows discussing politics and popular culture, there doesn't aren't many that actually talk about and break down the mechanisms of how social change, let alone revolution, is carried out. I believe that my 12 years of experience as a political organizer and educator, along with my lifelong nerdom, will allow me to create useful content that can hopefully inspire and support those engaged in changing the world.

Learn to Sail

Short episodes made for beginners by Tim Burnett

Episode 10 - Series Final - Basic Rules of Sailing

In this final episode, we look at the basic rules of sailing. Having consistent rules to follow for all sailors helps prevent accidents. The reason we have rules for sailing is so that the other knows how you will respond, unlike driving, there are no signs or road markings. Sailing rules are pretty similar around the world, however, please check locally.
You should now be familiar with port and starboard tacks on a boat. If the wind is blowing over your port side first then you are on port tack. If is blowing over your starboard side then you are on starboard tack. Port is the left side of the boat and starboard the right.
Rule 1 - Avoid accidents
Rule 2 - Power gives way to sail, but don't be stupid about this
Rule 3 - Port tack boats give way to starboard, if you are on the same tack, i.e. both on port tack or both on starboard tack, then see Rule 4.
Rule 4 - Windward (Upwind) boats must keep clea

Ep 225: What You Have To Give Up To Succeed

FACT: Giving up all of the things can actually make you miserable. If this is the price you have to pay to make 6 or 7 figures, then what’s the point? I encourage you to think and ask yourself some really important questions in hopes of upgrading the relationship with yourself, and having more trust in yourself!  A lot of you have a lengthy list of action items to be successful- change your diet, drink more water, cut out alcohol, wake up early… take cold showers… be regimented in your schedule.  Low key, for most of you, all of these things might not contribute to who you are at the core.  This concept can be very distracting, and here’s your gentle reminder that you DON’T get paid to do these things!! Seriously.. cutting out sugar?  FACT: Nobody is showing up and giving you one million dollars if you cut out sugar!  You don’t have to give up what you love and enjoy to be successful.  And you don’t have to fundamentally change who

Back then I was working mostly in natural building designing homes and managing construction sites for friends and clients around lake Atitlan, now it’s been two and a half years since I moved to Spain to be with my partner, and after years of searching and planning, we’re now preparing to move to a new property later this year in the Catalan mountains. Yet through all of these changes, my fascination for the knowledge and stories of folks around the world who are working to regenerate this planet and their communities has only grown.

The Brain Science Behind Your Students' (Missing) Engagement

When things aren't working, sometimes you need to come back to the basics. In this episode, we look at the brain science behind student engagement (or lack thereof) in the classroom. In the midst of a global pandemic, the "stuff that gets us by" might not be effective enough to "get us by" -- so we may find value in returning to the foundations of authentic engagement and successful 3D teaching: strong classroom relationships, safe community, and routines. This episode (the first of a short series) digs into what's going on in your students' brains as the first step to understanding what you can do to meet their needs right now while paving the way for more successful learning in your classroom moving forward.Referenced Resources:Spark SubscriptionCulturally Responsive Teaching & The Brain*More Resources: Teaching Science in 3D on Instagram & FacebookSubmit a QuestionExplo

Episode 9 - Looking at things from anothers perspective - Perceptual Positions

Title:  Looking at things from another’s perspectiveBy using perceptual positioning you can explore an event from a different perspective, this process enables you to step back from your own mental map and get a distance from any emotions attached to it.  You can also use it to explore another’s map, gaining an insight into their thought processes.  When you use the third position you can review a meeting/situation to gain insight into what happened, looking at it as onlooker.  This is also a great position for becoming your own coach.

Content Creation Definitions You Need to Know - Part 1

"I have no idea what that means!" That's what I thought every time someone mentioned a term about creating a podcast episode or publishing a YouTube video in my early days.I felt dumb not knowing what these things were even though I had zero prior background knowledge that would've enlightened me on this new creator vocabulary. That's when I realized I needed to create today's episode. In this episode, I'm sharing with you the first part of a two-part series on the basic definitions every content creator needs to know. "Nothing is too simple or too dumb to raise your hand when it comes to understanding these concepts." (It's what I wish I would've told myself as I spent hours Googling these terms back in 2018.)I hope you learn a thing or two about being a content creator with these first 4 definitions we're covering today. And stay tuned for part two in the next

Why Establishing a Pattern and then Breaking it in Story is One of the Best Tools You Can Learn

S2_E23 – Why Establishing a Pattern and then Breaking it in Story is one of the Best Tools You can LearnOne of the primary rules that we learn as storytellers that we need to accomplish is show don't tell. But what I find is that many writers simply struggle with that concept. One reason why is because they're unclear exactly what it means, let alone how to accomplish it.Today, I want to share with you a fantastic trick that you can use to start mastering this skill of showing vs. telling. Namely, you establish a pattern and then break it. The basic premise behind this technique is that you’re learning to think in terms of creating visual cues or images that your audience can interpret to determine what’s happening inside of the character, or where they are at emotionally. This works for their internal emotional journey as well as for developing character relationships.
