Ep. 976 - Healing Racial Trauma With A 25-Foot Afro Pick

Today on the Matt Walsh Show, why did the city of New Orleans put a giant two story tall hair pick right outside city hall to honor Juneteenth? We’ll discuss. Also, the Washington Post profiles a young mother of twins in an effort to prove why abortion is good and necessary, but accidentally proves the opposite. Feminist Megan Rapino has a message for female athletes: stop complaining and just let males take over your support. That’s girl power for you, I guess. Plus, the airline industry comes up with a new and horrifying way to make your flying experience even more miserable. And in our Daily Cancellation, UC Irvine comes up with a new inclusive spelling of the word “woman,” but then worries that it’s not inclusive enough. This story is so insane that you’ll think I’m making it up, but I’m not.

Mark Levin Audio Rewind - 6/22/22

On Wednesday's Mark Levin Show, President Biden has called for a gas tax holiday, something that Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi have called a gimmick since it does nothing to address increasing domestic oil production, which would offset the price. It's simple supply and demand economics, yet Biden refuses to allow any oil drilling on leased land controlled by the federal government. Sadly, Biden cowers to the Sierra Club and leftwing radical environmentalists to decrease production which drives up the cost and forces Americans out of their cars and into public transportation in the name of an environmental emergency, and the same will happen with single-family housing. Then, Biden continues to claim that inflation was caused by the war in Ukraine, yet the Federal Reserve chairman admits that inflation was high even before the war. The ruling class is incompetent and largely unreliable. Later, former Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum was charge

Dahlia Lithwick is joined by Ryan Goodman, professor of Law at NYU and co-editor-in-chief of Just Security. While we wait for the High Court to release opinions in a heaving pile of cases, the main constitutional action of the week was in Congress. Ryan Goodman has been piecing together the events of January 6th, and what led to it, for the past year and a half with colleagues at Just Security and Protect Democracy. Goodman leads Dahlia through what we heard from the January 6th select committee on Thursday night: what was new, what was big, and the emerging roadmap for Attorney General Merrick Garland.
In this week’s Amicus Plus segment, Dahlia and Slate’s Mark Joseph Stern run down the SCOTUS decisions we got this week - including a stunning decision this week allowing border agents almost limitless protection from lawsuits for bad behavior.

The Big Winners and Losers From the Remote Work Revolution

Most news is all about the immediate present. For instance, everything that is happening in the economy right now could be a historical anecdote in five years. But sometimes, norms change—and they stay changed for decades. I think the remote work revolution is just that sort of a paradigm shift. Here's a stat that should blow your mind: Office occupancy across the U.S. is still just 43 percent of its pre-pandemic high. That means that white-collar offices have had a worse recovery than basically any other economic category—worse than restaurants, bars, stadiums, and even movie theaters. But who is remote work actually working for? What are offices good for? And how will the remote work revolution change the way we relate to each other and the places we live? Today’s guest is Julia Hobsbawm, the author of 'The Nowhere Office,' a new book about the remote work revolution that combines history and reporting to ask a big

Dexter Filkins on the Rise of Ron DeSantis

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has shown himself uniquely skilled at attracting attention beyond the borders of his home state.  Just this month, DeSantis blocked state funds for the Tampa Bay Rays stadium after players voiced support for gun control in the wake of the mass shooting in Uvalde, Texas.  He’s also continuing a fight to punish the Disney Corporation for criticizing Florida’s so-called Don’t Say Gay law.  An Ivy League-educated anti-élitist firebrand, he is willing to pick a fight with anyone—reporters, health officials, teachers, Mickey Mouse—to grab a headline. DeSantis “practically radiates ambition,” the staff writer Dexter Filkins tells David Remnick. “He sounds like Trump, except that he speaks in complete sentences. … He’s very good at staking out a position and pounding the table and saying, I’m not giving in to the liberals in the Northeast.” Yet despite having been anointed by Donald Trump in his primary electi

Ep 233 | Pro-Life Victory: Supreme Court Overturns Roe v. Wade

Today will forever stand as a pivotal moment in our nation’s history: the day that the Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe v. Wade. The decision and the reaction to it have already revealed a lot about our people and politics. Pro-life groups celebrate, pro-choice groups call for “a night of rage,” and Nancy Pelosi just seems completely confused by the United States Constitution. Jason helps to guide the conversation on a history-defining day in our country. Pastor Bobby Harrington and BlazeTV contributor Jill Savage join the show to discuss the landmark ruling. Should June 24, 2022, be commemorated as a day of celebration, or is there still more work ahead before this decision has been heralded as a true victory? When the draft opinion was leaked in May, it showed a vote of 5-4, but today’s official vote saw Chief Justice John Roberts side with the majority in the 6-3 ruling. What is the significan

Life and Guns: How to Use the Lifeline God Has Given Us This Week | 6/24/22

We don’t deserve God's boundless grace, but He has convinced otherwise weak justices to finally affirm the right to self-defense and reverse the phantom right to kill a baby. Today, I offer you an analysis of the political path forward after the gun and abortion rulings. We succeeded on those issues because we actually fought for them. Now let’s do that on other issues, including bio-medical fascism and transhumanism, which are even greater pro-life issues than abortion. The enduring lesson is that we will enjoy the freedoms and good policies commensurate with the degree to which we are willing to fight for them. We fought for guns and against abortion in a united front, and God blessed our efforts. That blueprint can be replicated.

Watergate: What Really Happened 50 Years Ago?

?Richard welcomes a U.S. Attorney to discuss the Watergate scandal which began early in the morning of June 17, 1972, when several burglars were arrested in the office of the Democratic National Committee, located in the Watergate complex of buildings in Washington, D.C. This was no ordinary robbery: The prowlers were connected to President Richard Nixon’s reelection campaign, and they had been caught wiretapping phones and stealing documents. Biden’s Employer Mandate REINSTATED By Appeals Court; Mask Mandate Extended; More Coming

Despite the fact that most Americans are over COVID-19, have gotten back to their regular lives, and just wish to move on, it looks like government officials have some other ideas. Just one week ago, the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated the vaccine mandate on federal employees. The Department of Defense is currently engaged in its first court martial of an Air Force officer who refused the shot due to his religious conviction. Over a thousand colleges and universities across the country are mandating that their students be fully vaccinated. Some are requiring three shots—and very soon, they might be requiring four shots. The FDA recently approved the fourth shot, and told us to expect a fifth shot in the fall.  The federal mask mandate was just extended by another two weeks. Philadelphia reintroduced their indoor mask mandate. And all the while, Dr. Anthony Fauci had an interview

Justices Speed Things Up and Close In on Blockbusters

The Supreme Court made up a lot of ground fast on issuing decisions, and appears to be in good position to finish the term on its customary timeline.
The justices handed down 11 opinions in recent days, and have 18 more to go by the end of the month or early July.
More decisions are expected on Tuesday with blockbuster rulings on abortion, guns, and religion outstanding.
On this episode of Cases and Controversies, host Kimberly Robinson highlighted a flurry of decisions on June 13 and 15.
An immigration case, Arizona v. San Francisco, suggests the justices might look for off-ramps to complex issues as the term winds down.
In an administrative law case, American Hospital Association v. Becerra, the justices made changes to the bedrock Chevron doctrine on judicial respect for federal agency rules, without saying the word “Chevron.”

The ‘profound change’ from today’s energy crisis

In 1973, when Arab countries cut off petroleum exports to the US, the price of oil quadrupled. People couldn't get access to gasoline. The economy shrunk.
The Arab oil embargo was framed almost entirely as a supply problem. But a few years later, a 28-year-old physicist named Amory Lovins published an article in Foreign Affairs magazine that completely shifted how we framed the issue.
Nearly a half century later, we revisit Amory’s writing in the face of another global energy security crisis. Fossil fuel prices have spiked to record highs as a result of Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. Countries are now racing to stop buying Russian oil & gas as quickly as possible.
This week: Amory Lovins explains the profound changes taking place in the global energy system – and how Russia's war will accelerate them.
Guests: Amory Lovins, co-founder and chairman emeritus at RMI. Read his latest piece on how Russi

War Roils Concerns Over Critical Minerals

Russia’s oil and natural gas commodities get a lot of attention, but the country’s critical metals and minerals supplies – which include steel, titanium, nickel, cobalt and lithium – are also cause for concern.  Moscow’s military invasion of Ukraine could disrupt the global supply of these materials, which can be found in every corner of our lives. Mythbusting the social credit system

China's social credit system is notorious. This Black Mirror-esque network supposedly gives citizens a score, based on an opaque algorithm that feeds on data from each person's digital and physical lives. With one billion Chinese accessing the Internet and the growing prevalence of facial recognition, it means that their every move can be monitored – from whether they cross the road dangerously, to whether they play too many video games and buy too much junk food. Those with low scores have lower socio-economic status, and may not be able to board planes and trains, or send their children to school. It's all part of a Chinese Communist Party directive to further control and mould its citizens.

Except it's not. Speak to any Chinese person and you'll quickly realise that their lives are not dictated by some score, with their every move monitored and live-feeding to some kind of governmental evaluation of their social

What Jane Austen Can Teach Us About Dating Today

Few authors have influenced society's ideas about romance more than Jane Austen. The English novelist, born in 1775, lived only to age 41. In her short life, Austin completed six novels, including her most famous, “Pride and Prejudice.”With Valentine's Day just around the corner on Feb. 14—or the alternative Singles Awareness Day on Feb. 15— it’s a good time to reflect on Austen’s legacy. Far more than the usual novelist, Austen instructs readers toward a moral good, just as a philosopher would, Brenda Hafera, a senior policy analyst in American studies at The Heritage Foundation, says. Austen challenges class structures and common stereotypes for both men and women. She forces readers to look past the surface in romantic relationships to consider the character and intellect of a life partner. Today on “Problematic Women,” we discuss the lessons we can learn from Austen in an age of dating apps and casual r

Episode 100: One Hundred Years of American Conservatism

Ideas have consequences. From the early 2000s Matt Continetti, the author of the fascinating new book The Right, has worked at some of the leading institutions of American conservatism. He has seen firsthand how many of them fallen or lost their way. But where conservatism's critics see a movement that has become unrecognizable and even dangerous, Continetti sees instead a rich, vibrant, and messy war of ideas, institutions, and personalities. This week, Continetti—the co-founder of the Washington Free Beacon and a senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute—offered us a panoramic look at the past and future of the American right and its sometimes odd intellectual evolution. How much do ideas really matter? How might the Republican Party have been different had 9/11 not happened? And would the conservative movement have even been possible without the pervasive threat of communism? In Part 2, available here for s

S E109: Life on Earth Likely Arrived on a Comet

Comets and asteroids have been colliding with the Earth from the beginning of time, most recently about 100 years ago in Siberia. George Howard is an expert on cosmic impacts. He says they have occurred far more often, and are far more likely to strike again than most scientists think. He helped discover that the “Younger Dryas” period (about 11000 to 10,000 BC), which brought on an ice age that led to the extinction of animals such as the wooly mammoth and saber-toothed tiger, was caused by an asteroid colliding with the Earth. While mainstream scientists have yet to accept the theory, he reminds us that experts were also slow to accept that the same type of collision caused the extinction of the dinosaurs 230 million years ago. He also reports that life on earth likely arrived via a comet.Support Hidden Truth Show by going to and pledging just $5/m

Ep 179 | Fighting the Tyranny of Local Government | Guest: Jesse Ramos

Matt Kibbe is joined by Jesse Ramos, community engagement director for AFP-Montana, to talk about the ways in which individuals can make a difference in local politics. So often, our conversations revolve around national institutions like the White House, Congress, and the Supreme Court, but it’s really at the local level where we can best hope to effect real change. Issues like education, property taxes, and the lockdown policies implemented by local health departments can have a dramatic impact on people’s lives, but we can improve those outcomes simply by showing up to city council meetings and getting involved.

The Carl Jackson Podcast

Salem Podcast Network

Carl Jackson was born and raised in Los Angeles, California by his mother and father until the age of 11 when his mother died unexpectedly of a chronic illness. Carl attempted to find his way as the youngest of six who were lost without the strength of their matriarch. He moved back and forth between L.A and Orlando, FL trying to find his way in life. With the help of family and friends he was introduced to hard work, faith, and family values. However, as a struggling teen he wandered down the path of least resistance, finding himself in jail twice and with a child he had to fight to raise. By the grace of God and insistence by his brother and friend he attended an evangelical church and found that there was a better way. Once he accepted Jesus Christ as his savior, he began to develop a greater desire to understand who God is and why it mattered. He began to see that the cultural dependence on government promoted by the Democrat leaders among his community rejected dependence upon God. As he studied America’s history, he discovered that despite America’s flaws, particularly slavery, God used our Founding Fathers to create our Constitution within the context of the Bible and world history. Its divine and exceptional nature is undeniable. It was during his newfound love for American history that he discovered the Democrat party perpetuated slavery, formed the KKK, and fought against the civil rights of minorities. With this hidden history Carl was launched on a journey to help people of all races and backgrounds discover facts of history as well as realize the benefits of utilizing their God-given gifts and talents far outweigh any benefit from a government subsidy.

Eixo do Mal

'E.T. Phone Home': Pentagon Researched How to Talk to 4,590 ALIEN Civilizations | 4/8/22

The Pentagon researched the best way to contact aliens and communicate with a possible 4,590 extraterrestrial civilizations, according to secret U.S. files. The revelations come after the Sun obtained a trove of documents pertaining to extraterrestrials through a Freedom of Information Act request. The report, commissioned by the U.S. government, states its goal is to "ascertain whether alien civilizations exist in the universe, how far from us they exist and possibly how much more advanced than us they may be." Essentially, the documents are telling us that aliens are real, and the U.S. government knows they’re real. The real question now is what else is the government hiding? Filling in for Sydney, we’ve got Kezia Schaffer, host of the “Krocs On” YouTube channel.
