Should I Reach For Bigger, Healthier Goals or Be Happy Where I Am At?

Release Date:

You know how some days you're raring to go and ready to see how far you can push your body, and how much stronger you can become? Then, other days, you are totally content in some baggy sweatpants on the couch with a pint of Ben and Jerry's? I know you feel me!

This balance of discipline and flexibility, intentionality and freedom,  is a great example of my new favorite motto - grit and grace. As we transition from a season of routine reset, into a new season of more structure and goal setting, I thought it would be perfect timing to break this 'grit and grace' mentality down in an effort help guard against the 'all or nothing' mentality.

Understanding the nuances between grit and grace or discipline and flexibility can further protect us from feeling stuck in disappointment. And, when we grow from a place of peace in our body in trusting the process, we can be more focused on our goals and more motivated to keep moving along our empowered eating journey.

So, in today's episode we're going to take a look at whether you lean more towards a 'grit and grace' mentality, or an 'all or nothing' mentality. Then, we'll discuss how to be centered and mindful enough to better appreciate, and not be so afraid of, this common mindset swing.
