Is There Long-Term Value for NIL Trading Cards?; Thoughts on Panini Vs. Fanatics Lawsuit; Addressing Wander Franco Situation; Playing Quiz Show: Name 21 Athletes With Cards That Sold For Over $1M

Release Date:

EPISODE 154 - Clark, Hyung, and John are back together in this episode, opening the show by discussing their thoughts on the Panini vs. Fanatics anti-trust lawsuit. They also briefly address the sad and unfortunate situation regarding Wander Franco.
Then the guys talk about NIL (name/image/likeness) trading cards after reading a recent Washington Post article titled, "Thanks to NIL, college athletes have trading cards. Their value is hard to quantify."
They dive deeper into NIL's long-term value as well as whether it could dilute the value of a player's rookie card and if a company like Leaf or Panini America (or any other card manufacturer without professional league licenses) could profit from the NIL card market.
Clark then hosts the Quiz Show segment with Hyung and John trying to name all 21 athletes who have at least one card that sold for more than $1 million dollars.
Finally, they end off the show with the regular weekly Pick 1 segment where each of them put up two cards and they debate which one they would invest in. This week includes picking between a Corey Seager rookie autograph card vs. Freddie Freeman rookie autograph card; a $20K Michael Jordan autograph card vs. Shohei Ohtani Kanji autograph card; and Victor Wembanyama 1st Bowman Chrome base autograph card vs. Kevin Durant Topps Chrome Refractor rookie card.
