Discussing Retail King Fiasco and Whether Breaker Scams Are Prevalent in the Hobby; Topps Tennis Cards Coming and Future of Niche Sports Cards?; Playing Buy/Sell/Hold On Injured Players

EPISODE 122 - Clark, Hyung, and John open the show with a brief discussion on the Retail King breaker fiasco and if they think scams in the breaking world are more prevalent these days or whether there are just a few relatively speaking all being highlighted on social media at the moment.
Then the guys get into Hobby Headlines to talk about Fanatics signing a 20 year deal with Winners Alliance – a for-profit affiliate of the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) – to produce tennis cards for the next two decades under the Topps brand. And more broadly, including tennis, they discuss whether niche sports can have sizeable collector base in the hobby and see sustainable growth (ie. lacrosse, cricket, rugby?)
Next, they play another round of Buy/Sell/Hold with Clark giving a list of five currently injured players who are expected to be out months, and then each deciding whether they would buy, sell, or hold their cards. The list of players includes Jose Altuve, Bryce Harper, Walker Buehler, Chet Holmgren, and Cole Caufield.
Lastly, they finish the show off with the regular "Pick One" segment where each host names two cards or sets, and then debate which one they would rather invest in.
