on Aging and Menopause

Release Date:

Once you approach 50 years old, it’s easy to resign yourself to what you believe is inevitable weight gain. This is especially true for women going through menopause, who simply accept weight gain alongside a vast array of other symptoms like brain fog, insomnia, and hot flashes.
With a hormonal flux that can start several years before the final period and symptoms that can continue for years after the final period, we’re looking at close to a decade in which women can be experiencing symptoms. Due to this length of time, we get a significant blurring of lines between age-related and menopause-related symptoms, as the two progress concurrently.
In this podcast episode, we uncover the truth behind what can cause weight gain during menopause and what we can do to prevent this from occurring.
We answer some of the most common questions people have, including:
1. Does metabolism really slow down?
2. Is belly fat gain a real thing in menopause?
3. What are some menopause symptoms and how can I alleviate these?
4. What are some strategies I can implement in my diet and lifestyle to support me through this time?
With the average age for a final period in the U.S. at 51 years old, people typically have nearly half of their lives left after their last period.
This podcast episode answers some of the most common questions about menopause. We learn all about how our metabolism changes during menopause, whether belly fat gain is inevitable, how to manage and reduce common menopause symptoms like hot flashes and how diet and lifestyle changes can support the transition through perimenopause and beyond.
