Episode 26 - Ringgenberg on US Army Signals in WWI

Release Date:

Dr. Jonathan Abel is joined by Dr. Bill Nance to discuss US Army signals with Professor Dirk Ringgenberg.  They begin by dissecting the origins of the US Army Signal Corps, particularly as technology developed in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.  They detail how the Army procured both equipment and experts in that equipment, allowing it to maintain technological currency.  Finally, they discuss many of the difficulties of battlefield signals during the Great War.
