Big Takeaways

While there is truly zero requirement to do any of the beauty tips recommended in this episode, we wanted to give some hot tips from a professional make-up artist on how to look your most polished on your wedding day. It is important to remember that sometimes you can overdo it too, you want to feel like yourself in your pictures when you look back. Ultimately, you want to feel comfortable in your skin.

When you’re looking for your hair and make-up people, consider if you would feel good spending a lot of time with them. You absolutely want to be surrounded by people who support you and help you feel calm as you are preparing for the ceremony.

There is often no time to have a trial before booking a make-up artist, so when searching there are some things to look out for. Do a google search, find them on big wedding sites, see how they appear and what they share on multiple platforms. They should have a professional site. Think about how they are responding to your emails, are they respecting your time?

Remember that your vendor team and your planner are great resources!

Vet your practitioners! If they haven’t been practicing for a long time, it might not be the best option before your wedding. Someone with a great portfolio and recommendations goes a long way.

When deciding your wedding style, consider how you want to mesh the inspiration you find and the styles you love with your personal daily beauty/style. Think about what it is in the pictures you found that you really like. Is it their skin texture? The lip color? The hair? Consider the details.
