Episode 14 -- Roberto Clemente

Release Date:

Josh tells Tom the story of the legendary Roberto Clemente, the first Latin American player inducted into the baseball Hall of Fame. From his roots in Puerto Rico to grabbing two World titles with the Pittsburgh Pirates, Clemente was famed for his abilities in the field and became a threat at the plate as well. Along the way, we find out how the Brooklyn Dodgers blew their chance to have Clemente,;when he teamed up with Willie Mays in the same outfield; hit a walk-off, inside-the-park grand slam; and his tragic death when he was still a great player in his late 30's. We had some technical difficulties recording this episode.  Josh did an amazing job editing this, but there's still some awkwardness in there. Bruce Markusen's Roberto Clemente: The Great One was a the main source of information in this episode Clemente's Baseball Reference page
