Backstage with Chanale

Release Date:

Female performers have had a renaissance in recent years, especially with live performances and concerts. In this episode of DMC, we go backstage with Chanale Fellig-Harrel, otherwise known as Chanale, who published her first album in the late 90s and she was one of the few frum female artists out there putting out albums and performing at the time. She’s also the consummate hustler, as evidenced by her podcast, The Weekly Squeeze. We’re curious to hear her thoughts and experiences about the emerging frum female music industry.
In this episode we discuss:

How Chanale first began to develop her musical talent
What it was like as a frum female performer in the 90s and 2000s when it wasn’t as popular as it is today
How making Aliya a few years ago impacted her musical career
How Chanale uses her creativity to fuel multiple endeavors, including her podcast, running masterclasses, producing comedy videos and more
Advice she would give aspiring frum female musicians and singers
