The Amygdala is a roughly almond sized structure within the brain that’s mostly composed of gray matter. It’s a part of the Limbic System, located in the center of the brain. While the Limbic System as a whole controls emotions, behaviors, and memory, the Amygdala specifically affects emotion and connects emotion with memories.
