Nan is a mother, educator and author. As a young girl she loved to be the teacher when she was playing with her friends and cousins. God gave Nan many gifts and one of those gifts is teaching others. Nan grew up in Utah. Her parents instilled in her and her siblings the belief that nothing is impossible. Nan attended Utah State studying biology. She served a mission in Australia in the 90's. Nan's mission taught her grit. She returned and married her husband. They have lived in Texas, Utah and Oregon. They have 3 boys. Nan teaches english and biology at a public high school.
