228. Adopted at the age of 19 with Sammy Metcalf

Sammy grew up in Chandler Arizona with her parents and older sister.  Her parents worked hard to provide for their family which kept them from home.  That placed Sammy in the care of her grandmother "mama". Her grandmother was a loving, nurturing and caring person for Sammy as a little girl. Sammy would travel to Mexico with her grandma in the summers and spend her weekends at her grandmothers home.  At the age of 10, Sammy's grandma died from ovarian cancer. Sammy's life was changed forever. Her desire to have a forever family grew within her and at the age of sixteen while she was working at a yogurt shop Sam met her future adoptive mother Nikki Metcalf. A couple years later, Sam moved in with the Metcalf's and learned about the gospel of Jesus Christ. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In 2014 at the age of 20 she was sealed to Nikki & Brett Metcalf and their 5 children.
