THE WATERLINE SUMMIT 2022 - DAY 1: Panelist Joanna Kolomanska

Release Date:

Jonathan Levy talks to Joanna Kolomanska who leads this important platform within the World Economic Forum (WEF), which enables business, governments and society to grow sustainable economies, help to halt climate change, and create a more equitable world.
WEF believes a transition of energy, materials, and infrastructure is needed in the next two decades to keep global temperature increases below 1.5 degrees while ensuring the energy future is affordable, secure and inclusive. New trends and technologies are changing energy production, delivery and consumption. In parallel, world demand for raw materials could double by 2060. Getting on track to net-zero emissions by 2050 will require annual investment in clean energy infrastructure to reach nearly $4 trillion by 2030.
With regard to climate change in general, WEF is committed to supporting global efforts in the private and public sectors to limit global temperature rise and stave off disaster. It aims to work with leaders to increase climate commitments, collaborate with partners to develop private initiatives, and provide a platform for innovators to realise their ambition and contribute solutions.
