Spencer Bailey’s forthcoming book, In Memory Of: Designing Contemporary Memorials (Phaidon Press), speaks to the important work of memorializing lives lived and how we experience grief. Spencer, the former editor in chief of Surface magazine and a talented journalist who writes about architecture, art, culture, design, and technology for many publications, came to this work via a very personal experience. He also explores the relevant notion of slowing down in his podcast, which he cohosts with Andrew Zuckerman, in which they speak to thought leaders on the subjects of design, nature, the environment, and activism.
