Another Week. Another Brilliant Woman.
Each week we will be featuring a brilliant woman working in the project management industry speaking inside the Women Of Project Management membership.

This week, we're featuring Jamila Parham of my hometown Chicago, Illinois, inside the Masterclass, 'Leaving Her Legacy In Tech', where Jamila and I have candid conversations about being a woman, and being a woman of color in the tech space.

Jamila was the 1st black woman to be appointed as the Director of Information Technology for the City of Chicago implementing their most innovative project to date, and she's now killing it as a brilliant Program Manager for Microsoft.
More About Jamila.
From a shy gamer and aspiring techie with little to no resources to pursue her dream. To today, an award-winning tech leader, STEM advocate and daughter of Chicago, Jamila's journey as The Tech Unicorn ™ began.  Jamila received a Bachelor of Science from DePaul University in Computer Graphics and Animation. She holds a Master of Information Systems Management with a concentration in Project Management from Keller Graduate School and she is the proud member of the prestigious Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.
By day, Jamila is an award-winning tech leader delivering civic technology solutions for various municipal divisions with over 15 years of experience in the tech industry. She has led cutting edge multimillion-dollar smart city, array of things, software development, infrastructure, and disaster recovery initiatives for both the public and private sector. Jamila currently serves a Technical Program Manager at Microsoft, leading business continuity and cloud computing initiatives.
All other times, she is affectionately known as The Tech Unicorn. Jamila is a public servant, tech ecosystem builder, and a champion for diversity and inclusion. She advocates on behalf of under-represented and under-valued communities to address the lack of diversity in STEM. Jamila is the founder of The Tech Unicorn™, a brand that empowers and uplifts hidden figures deemed 'unicorns' in STEM through impact and outreach initiatives.  The Tech Unicorn™ is a brand on a mission to amplify voices, advance marginalized communities, and inspire careers and entrepreneurship in STEM-related fields.
