Pawareness Podcast # 31 | The Animal Welfare Bill with Senator Stephanie Hansen of Delaware

This week, we are releasing a special episode where we host a panel discussion with Senator Stephanie Hansen of Delaware and Courtney Bellew, the founder of the Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation (SNARR) Northeast Rescue.
In this episode, Senator Hansen provides details on how she came up with Bill 139 which will prevent abuses for household dogs and rescues in Delaware. It will protect dogs from being left outside for a long period of time during extreme weather and tethering for long hours. When government officials work closely with animal welfare organizations and lobbyists, the problems that many animals suffer from will easily be addressed.
In the same way, Courtney Bellew shares the importance of elevating the causes of animal welfare organizations to the government level. She also advocates for stricter laws and regulations for spay-neuter programs so that the homeless animal population will decrease.
