Ladies of Golf: Elizabeth Nelson, writer & singer-songwriter

Release Date:

For this Ladies of Golf episode we welcomed a freaking rock star. Yes, really. Elizabeth Nelson is a singer-songwriter for the DC-based garage punk band The Paranoid Style. She is a regular contributor to The Ringer, Oxford American, Pitchfork and The Golfer's Journal. We talked about her love of the sport and its characters, her writing style and how music has a place in golf. Before we get into the interview, Abby recaps the busy weekend for women’s golf, including Tsubasa Kajitani’s victory at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur and Patty Tavatanakit’s wire-to-wire win at the ANA Inspiration. Lydia Ko made a huge run during the final round, posting a 62 to tie the 18-hole scoring record at the ANA. Meanwhile, Patty delivered a flawless final round to become the first rookie to win the ANA Inspiration since Juli Inkster in 1984. She put on a clinic AND delivered fireworks, people.
