I Am That I Am: Authority and Religion

Release Date:

Authority plays a large part in how we navigate our daily lives. On the last episode, I discussed the concept of authority and power, and why we choose to give our authority away. On this episode, I'll discuss the topic in relation to religious concepts and figures.
As you dive into this episode, remember that I use the term religion simply as a core set of beliefs guided by dogma so that we can discuss the topic in terms of science, politics, and religion. I do focus on what is more commonly referred to as religion and use several fantastic allegorical stories from Rumi, the Gospel of Thomas, and classic Zen Buddhism to illustrate some of the ideas in this episode.
