Getting on Board with Respectful Parenting: A Real and Raw Conversation with my Formerly Behaviorist Mom

One of the most common questions I receive as a parenting coach and consultant is "How do I get __________ on board with respectful parenting?"  Usually referring to spouses, grandparents and in-laws.  People often wonder or assume that because I confidently teach this methodology that I myself was raised with it, but it is in fact not the case at all!My mom was willing to have a vulnerable open discussion with me during this episode about her first impression of what I share and practice, her own experience as a mother to me and my three siblings, and lots more.  I hope that hearing her perspective and mindset shift as well as experience as well as my interpretation of all of it, the before, after and in-between, will be valuable to you in navigating this for yourselves and your families.
