First Comes Passion ... Then Comes $$

Growing up, my mom always said that the first step in "deciding what you want to do with your life" (as if that's a one-stop situation) started with finding a passion. "If you're passionate about collecting garbage, you'll find a way to make money doing it," she said to me many times. I was not passionate about collecting garbage, but I was passionate about Seventeen and Sassy magazines, but as a teenage girl in Indiana, did that really qualify as one, unique, and two, as a legitimate career goal? Turns out, it did. Today, we get into how deciding what you really love is the best — and dare we say, only — way to find a profession that will not only bring you joy, but also pay the bills. It's not always the easiest or most immediate recipe for success but it is definitely the most sustainable one.
