Ahh ... the family vacation. In theory, it's a beautiful experience when both geographically distant and close-knit relatives can meet, enjoy each other's company, relax, and make lifelong memories. In reality, it can be a sh*tshow. Deciding where to travel and stay (large house/small condo/multiple hotel rooms), who's footing the bill, and who's in charge of feeding everyone (then washing their dishes) three times a day can make a family trip feel like a minefield, full of shallowly buried resentments and unhealthy family dynamics, just waiting to explode with one wrong step.
