Episode 25: The Week Ending October 23, 1971 Ain’t No Sunshine in the Shaft

Release Date:

Long ago and far away it seemed the world was filled with gypsys, tramps, and thieves. Their smiling faces sometimes could hide the fact you were going to be a victim of a stick up. At that point you felt like there just ain’t no sunshine and you couldn’t imagine a world where there was. Perhaps you felt trapped there by a thing called love. Then one fine morning you decided to get a ticket out of town on the peace train. Well, this week we look back at the Billboard Top 40 from the week of October 23rd, 1971. It is not easy reviewing songs that seem so far away, and for some of the songs, it’s a thin line between love and hate, but I guess you have to crawl before you walk.
