Bjorn Wagner is a world-famous musician who's own name is less known than the name of his band, Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band. He hails from Hamburg, Germany and picked up pan when he took a trip to Trinidad & Tobago as a grad student. He applied the instrument to his favorite genres of music, funk and hip-hop, and began a career as a recording artist, carving out a special niche for himself in the process. This episode covers his early beginnings, recording methods, musical style and tips on how others can find their own unique voice with pan.
