Episode 108: A Couple’s Guide to LDS Faith Crisis and Expansion--Course I OVERVIEW

In this episode, Valerie highlights what you will learn in her NEW online course “A COUPLE’S GUIDE FOR LDS FAITH CRISIS AND EXPANSION” for couples struggling with uneven faith journey experiences.  
This is her first of several in a series of online courses that align with the content and mission of the Latter Day Struggles Podcast—to expand your personal authority and strengthen your ability to live a whole, healthy life as a person either in or around The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In this first of two courses committed exclusively to the struggling LDS couple [where one partner is in faith expansion and one partner holds more traditional/orthodox views of the LDS church],
Valerie offers insights and practical techniques to help both partners see that their fear, disorientation, worry, and anguish is legitimate, frightening, and can be overcome through compassion, strengthened empathy, communication skills, and love.
Valerie’s curriculum begins by building a foundation around the couple’s already-existing resiliencies. She then works with couples on better understanding one's own and their partner's impossible-to-talk-about current emotions and experience. 
She then offers a path to help each individual understand themselves, their partner, and their early conflict management patterns. This leads naturally into the presentation of strategies that will help each partner look with compassion on the other’s current stance in their unique faith journey.
This course offers a wealth of information, prompts for a variety of couples’ conversations, journal prompts, and reflection questions for each individual to reflect on and the couple to discuss.
This course is suitable for both the couple to take together OR for one partner in the marriage who desires clearer language, deeper understanding, and new ideas about how to communicate with and understand their partner.
••A quick correction about this episode: in a few different places, Valerie accidentally used the word “validation” in place of “individuation” when describing the second class in this course. Sorry for the confusion!
