Welcome Back Coachable Family! This week we are joined with the lovely Sue McDonnell. 

Sue has worked in internal Head of OD and Talent roles across insurance, professional services and the telco sector. She has been in consulting roles since 2007 and has run her own business for seven years. Sue helps senior execs to transform themselves through coaching, team development, energetic alignment and psychotherapy. She is lucky enough to work with senior teams in a systemic way using some Adaptive Leadership work (Harvard) as well as her own team model. She also works as a qualified reiki practitioner and has studied energetic medicine for a number of years.

“You can’t lead people to transformation, if you haven’t went through a transformation with yourself”

“There is nothing wrong with us but society has made us think that” 

“Transformation requires you to become really self aware of your triggers”

“Learning to regulate your nervous system learning looks like bringing yourself back into your body”

“The most important thing is having self compassion.”

“Lean into what is scaring you and giving you anxiety in the moment. we can’t tackle everything at once.”

“Our progress isn’t always noticeable shifts.”

“Progress can be small shifts - something not triggering you as much as it once would have.”

“Is what i’m tolerating preventing me from experiencing the things I want?”

“Get clear on what you do want to know what you don’t want.”

“Any change is scary because we do not like uncertainty”

“The unknown is where the miracles exist.” 

“What would happen if i prioritized feeling good..not as way of escaping problems but allowing myself to know that it’s okay to feel good”

“Emotions are data. even if i’m feeling sad how can i sit with that emotions are supposed to pass through us”

“Surrender isn’t a giving up its a deeper level of trust that everything is happening for me and not to me” 

“Accepting it doesn’t mean we are okay with it, it means we are not trying to change it to be anything other than it is”

“You don’t have to do anything to be loved.”

“There is a disciple and a practice when you are on the path of transformation.”

“Not rigid, but consistent” 

“I am worthy of enjoying life.. life is not a punishment anymore”
