17 - Hank Washington: Finding Your Voice in Design

This week I had the opportunity to sit down with illustrator and art director Hank Washington. Hank is not only a designer, illustrator, and art director but also gives talks at design conferences like Creative South and Canceled Con. In our conversation, Hank and I talked about his introduction into design, how he formed his style as a designer, and how to find your voice as a designer. Hank has also had the chance to work heavily in social media and we had some great conversations about how useful and dangerous social media can be as well. He had some awesome insights into how you can be on social media but make sure you protect yourself from comparing yourself to others or creating for an algorithm.
