Ven-Allen Lubin's 2023-24 closing stretch stats...WOW | Can't judge portal success/failure yet

Once Ven-Allen Lubin was healthy last season and settled into playing at Vandy, his numbers increased and would likely be more desirable to Tar Heel faithful. It’s important to not judge a players numbers without the context within which they were achieved. Lubin is, at worst, a frontcourt insurance policy to go along with the stellar backcourt and wings consisting of RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, Seth Trimble, Ian Jackson, Cade Tyson, and Drake Powell. At best, he’s a unique front court piece that could allow the Tar Heels to play unlike anything they’ve done in the Hubert Davis era. Because of those possibilities, it’s a good time to be reminded that we can’t accurately judge portal success or failure at this juncture because we haven’t seen the final product on court.
