The Gift of Black Male Joy

The black male joy movement is alive and well! They are frolicking, vacationing, building bonds with friends, and leaning into their fatherhood with a level of vulnerability and emotional intelligence that may have been frowned upon in previous generations. In this episode Dr. Pamela Larde unpacks some of the challenges that black men face in our society and how they are simultaneously and wholeheartedly embracing joy. Included in the conversation is a panel of three black men who seamlessly integrate joy into their personal and professional lives. The panelists are: John Robinson, Jr. of Joy+, Lawrence Henderson of Boss Consulting, and Jamal Washington of The Joy Gym. Also featured is counselor, Tahir Cowans, who offers a perspective on how black men are rising above adversity.
