It was recently publicized that a certain older Rabbi allegedly said that jews should show gratitude towards the IDF Soldier's at war now as they do garbage men. This of course was not taken well by the public and created a repeat of the hatred of orthodox jews by the liberal jews in israel.
Was what this Rabbi saying true, and if not, what is the Torah perspective?
