Supported Employment and the Road to Recovery, Part 4

Release Date:

This training series focuses on the services and supports that promote recovery in individuals with serious mental health conditions. This training centers on key factors that influence positive physical and mental health outcomes among people in recovery, including poverty, stigma, and other social determinants. Specifically, the training will dive into the role that supported employment plays as it enhances independence and is a social determinant of health. Many people with serious mental health conditions return to work and maintain employment. Critical to the vocational success of people in recovery are the views and perspectives of employers on hiring and accommodating these workers, as well as the kinds of supports employers need to facilitate reintegration into the workforce. Collaboration in the community with stakeholders, as well as development of partnerships are essential for this. Throughout this series, we highlight the steps to ensure these are possible in your community with other providers and entities. This training is developed through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens. This training will utilize case examples, discussion prompts, and other tools to build knowledge on recovery and employment. Part 4.
