Ocean Ambassador Fernando Montano & Friends

Release Date:

Royal Ballet soloist, and Marine Conservation Society Ocean Ambassador, Fernando Montano, has already done some amazing work for the charity and now he presents the first Oceancast.
Fernando was brought up by the Pacific coast of Columbia and has always loved the ocean and like so many others he's become increasingly horrified by the ever-growing levels of pollution and especially the problem that our over-use of plastics is creating when it's dumped into our rivers and oceans. In this episode Fernando talks to adventurer, journalist, documentary maker and fellow Ambassador, Simon Reeve, about his travels and the impact he's seen first-hand of plastic on the ocean. He meets another Ocean Ambassador, Miranda Krestovnikoff, wildlife presenter on the BBC One Show and passionate diver in UK seas, and world record breaking Welsh hurdler Colin Jackson who lives beside the sea in Cardiff. Fernando also catches up with West End violinist, Jonathan Hill, who's played on a violin made out of driftwood. With Marine Conservation Society staff also dropping in for a chat, it's a soothing and inspiring listen - just like the ocean itself!
