My Clinical Rotations Experience: Obstetrics and Gynecology
Episode 42. I speak about my personal experience while completing my obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) rotation during my third year of medical school. This clerkship was the last rotation of the year before 4th year in July! In addition to sharing how many deliveries and cesarean sections I participated in, I also discuss common prenatal diagnoses (hyperemesis gravidarum, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension, HELLP syndrome), polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), epidural vs. "natural," true contractions vs. false contractions (Braxton Hicks contractions), and kick counts.
