Last Days at Sea with Venice Atienza
In this episode, we feature a conversation with Venice Atienza about her film LAST DAYS AT SEA, which premiered at the Berlinale earlier this year. LAST DAYS AT SEA is a tender portrait of a young boy, Reyboy, living in an isolated fishing village in the Philippines where he grew up. Reyboy loves his village and the sea, but by the end of summer, he will have to leave to study in the city.At the heart of the film lies an environmental story of marine preservation, but one that is told ever so subtly through Reyboy's charming young eyes and the filmmaker’s thoughtful, personal reflections that pull us closer to their friendship. Teyama Alkamli, filmmaker and contributor of Docs in Orbit, moderates the conversation. For show notes, visit docsinorbit.com and be sure to follow us on social media @docsinorbit
