Elle Russ chats with Kalee Boisvert - she has been in the financial industry for over 15 years, driven by her passion for money since a young age. Growing up in a single-parent household, she witnessed her mother's financial struggles and felt a strong desire to make a difference. Determined not to let her circumstances define her, Kalee embarked on her own journey to financial literacy. Today, as a single mom and financially independent woman, Kalee is dedicated to supporting women in their financial lives. She firmly believes that no woman should experience anxiety about money, whether it's for supporting themselves, their family, or their future. Motivated by this personal goal, she pursued a career as a financial advisor, allowing her to directly empower and support women, alleviating their money-related stress and doubts. Kalee continuously creates initiatives aimed at building a community of financially independent women who recognize their worth as earners and investors. Recognizing that money and investment discussions can be intimidating and overwhelming for women, she started hosting women-only events five years ago, providing a safe and comfortable space. These events cover various wealth topics and attract over 1000 women annually. Furthermore, Kalee is the creator and host of The Wealth and Wellness podcast, which emphasizes the vital connection between net worth and self-worth. The podcast has experienced a steady increase in downloads of 30% per month. As a staunch advocate for financial literacy, she also writes articles on financial topics and has been published in Calgary's Child magazine with her article titled "Raising Money Savvy Children." Kalee has appeared on the Global Morning Show in Calgary to discuss methods of teaching children about money. Kalee has shared her expertise on various panels, including the Divorce Symposium and Women in ETFs, addressing investment and money-related subjects. She has been invited to speak for numerous organizations and groups, such as the Young Women Lawyers Association, Articling Students Association, Young Women in Business, and Women in Energy. Her speaking engagements cover topics such as "Women Building Wealth," "Investing for Success," and "Money Mindset." Additionally, she serves as a sessional instructor for the "Investing 101" course with the Alberta Securities Commission. In 2020, Kalee was recognized as one of the 20 Rising Stars in Canada by Wealth Professionals and received the gold Young Achiever of the Year award. To further her commitment to financial literacy, Kalee is set to release two books in 2023. The first is a children's picture book titled "MoneyWise Mabel's Bursting Bank," while the second is a non-fiction book called "Make Money Your Thing!"
