No child should ever have to face the physical andemotional pain of cancer. Sasha did so with grace and resilience. She turned to music totranscend the pain and loneliness of the hospital where she underwent a major surgery andchemotherapy. Fast forward to today—Sasha is in remission and excited to spend time doingwhat she loves: creating heartwarming music and sharing meaningful messages through herart.Sasha’s passion for music began from a very young age—in fact, she began to sing around thesame time she learned to speak. As she grew older, she found inspiration in artists such asQueen. By the time sheturned nine, Sasha caught the attention of producers Cory and Julia Shuman of Little Bird BigSound. With the help of Cory and Julia, Sasha began recording music, leading up to the releaseof her first single, “Free to Be Me.”Sasha is excited to grow her music and continue to hone her skills. “I play a lot of instruments, but I want to try making my own beat or tune. I think it’s cool to make up your own. Musicmade me happy even on days when I was being poked and prodded—when I listened to music,it took me away from the hospital to somewhere else, somewhere where I felt free. I want tohelp people dealing with hard times to feel like that, too. I want to make people happy.”Through her music and story, Sasha Friedman hopes to raise awareness for all the hospitalpatients who are undergoing similar experiences, whether fighting cancer or undergoing amajor surgery. “Everyone goes through a hard time.
