Bliss: Age-Restricted Space for Mingling and Networking

Marvin Pate and his wife have opened a new restaurant called Bliss in St. Louis County, offering West African and Caribbean cuisine. The unique aspect of the restaurant is that there is an age restriction for entry, with women needing to be at least 30 years old and men needing to be at least 35 years old. The idea behind this restriction is to create a space where people can mingle and network with others in their age bracket. While there have been some complaints, the restaurant has been successful so far. Marvin and his wife got the idea from their travels and experiences at resorts where people look forward to dressing up and going out for dinner. They wanted to bring that experience back home and create a space for people to enjoy good food and company. The conversation also explores the legality of such age restrictions and the potential for expanding the concept to include other restrictions.
