The Ozempic Craze

Release Date:

This has been a topic on my mind for awhile now, and I want to clarify that when I am referring to "coming off the medication" I am referring to this drug being used as a quick fix, weight loss solution. I understand that there are many people who benefit from the drug and could be on long-term. However, the way that the media/influencer etc. are advertising it, using words like "skinny shot" does not sit well with me. The current advertising is is sending a message that if you "just get a shot" you can magically lose weight and be thin, and it terrifies me for women and young girls. It's not about being "triggered" it's about recognizing that health doesn't equate to weight lose, health relates to habit change. Think about if you've ever successfully lost weight and kept it off, you probably: changed your nutrition habits, are moving more in ways you enjoy, maybe drinking more water, or sleeping better. It's not the weight loss giving you the benefits but the habits that led to it!
