Release Date:

This week on the Divorce & Beyond podcast, Susan Guthrie, Esq., is joined by Certified Divorce and Mediation Coach, Kelly Myers. Together they discuss how you can start your divorce on the right foot and avoid a divorce hangover!
Kelly Myers’ goal is for individuals to not have any regrets after the divorce is over. She refers to it as the divorce hangover – the if only’s, wouldas, couldas, and shouldas of divorce. In this episode, Kelly shares some of the things she wished she had known or done differently during her divorce.
One of the lessons Kelly learned and shares today: You may not get everything you want from your divorce, but with the right tools, mindset, and professionals, you will know exactly why you made every decision you made, you’ll understand the pros and cons of each choice, and you can move forward with confidence in your vision.
Topics and Golden Nuggets include:
Why it is important to look at your divorce as the opportunity to build the foundation for your future.
You must become your own advocate. You can’t rely on other professionals to do that because they are not an expert in your life. You are.
Create a vision of what you want your post-divorce life to be
Once you have your vision, use it as a tool for creating your support team and convey not only what you need, but why you believe you need it
“How can you use the law as a tool to get what you and your family need, including the ability to move forward and thrive? That’s the goal here.”
The power of organizing your thoughts and fears in a divorce notebook

If divorce is in your future, listen to this episode to gain clarity and build a strong foundation for your beyond!
