Young and the Restless sees Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) spirals deeper into her bipolar disorder, putting lives at risk. Despite Mariah Copeland's (Camryn Grimes) assurance to Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) that Sharon is taking her medication, it appears that Sharon may be unmedicated. As Sharon starts to blur the lines between reality and fantasy, lives of characters like Daniel Romalotti, portrayed by Michael Graziadei, and Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O'Briant) hang in the balance. Sharon's fixation on Lucy and Daniel, who she perceives as the reasons for her daughter Cassie Newman's death, sets a dark tone.
Y&R sees Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) and Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) also find themselves in Sharon's crosshairs. With the 30th anniversary of Sharon Case's tenure on the CBS soap opera coming, the storyline is expected to end soon. As Sharon's mental health spirals, the question remains - will someone pay the ultimate price?
