All things golf with Kevin Van Cleef

Release Date:

Kevin Van Cleef is this week’s guest. This is his second time joining me on the pod. We connected through twitter last fall and since then he has continued his work on the grounds crew at Old Sandwich. He shares some news on his progress, but we also touch on his last minute Collin Morikawa bet for the Open and some Olympic golf before we dive into a topic that has effected his golfing life - the impending sale and shuttering of Cape Cod Country Club. While it seems like the land will become a solar field, there is still a small glimmer of hope that maybe the sale can be stalled or stopped so that someone can possibly save the course. If you’d like to help, I have included a link in the show notes to the Cape Cod Commission who will oversee the next steps in the process. I have also included a piece I wrote this spring about what’s going on at Cape Cod CC and another course in New Hampshire that’s also owned by Friel Golf Management. On the bright side, Kevin has found a new course in the par 3 gem Cotuit Highgrounds that he’s enjoyed playing this spring and summer.
