Danny Sanchez The City Peace Project Creating A Family Bond That Is Stronger Than Gang Violence

Danny Sanchez is the creator and executive director of The City Peace Project, a San Jose, CA based nonprofit that works to get gang members out of gangs and leading healthir lives through mentoring and leadership programs.

From a very young age, Danny seemed almost destined for gang life, and battled with alchoholism, anger, violence, and death surrounding him until he surrendered his life to Jesus in prison.

His new book, "Post Traumatic Quest: My Journey to Transcend Trauma, Turn My Pain Into Purpose, and Find Peace" vulnerably details his journey out of gangs and the violent criminal lifestyle associated with them.

We discuss how the teens he mentors get into gang life, the courage it takes to walk away from a gang when they are still active in your town, Danny's journey through prison, juvenile detention, and near death experiences, and how The City Peace Project is changing the lives of youth across the nation.
