102. JC Chasez Part 9: The Story of Kate

In 2004, JC Chasez was undeterred by the disappointing sales of his first solo album, Schizophrenic. Instead, he was doing something he does quite well: looking into the future. JC conceptualized a brilliant multimedia production entitled The Story of Kate that he hoped to bring not just to fans' ears, but to stages, TV networks, and beyond. While working with Justin Timberlake, Jimmy Harry, Dallas Austin, Timbaland, and more; JC coined the term "intelligent pop music" as he aspired to go beyond some of the shallow concepts that were topping the charts at the time without sacrificing any of the energy that went along with such music. So what happened? Why aren't we all spinning our Story of Kate vinyls right now? In this two part series-within-a-series, I will explore just that - as always, in depth.
