Professional Adventure Racer and Founder and CEO of NatureQuant Jared Hanley joins today’s episode to talk extreme endurance sport and share how his company is reshaping the way the world measures the impact nature has on our lives.   A veteran of professional Expedition races Jared shares the grueling physical and mental toll the 10+ day races inflicts on athletes. A competition that puts athletes under extreme and sometimes life threatening duress, Jared explains the need to make skills like rock climbing, white water rafting and cave diving so automatic that athletes can do them under severe sleep deprivation.   An avid lover of nature, Jared explains how he applies his background as a data scientist to quantify the positive impact of nature on our physiology and the health risks associated with lack of access. He explains the correlation between exposure to nature and life expectancy. What the science says is a recommended minimum in terms of personal exposure.
