Quincy talked about his relationship with the late, jazz legend Miles Davis and his writings on the notable musician. He also read a sample of poems.

BIO
Quincy Troupe is the author of 20 books, including 10 volumes of poetry and
three children’s books. His awards include the Paterson Award for Sustained Literary
Achievement Gwendolyn Brooks Poetry Award, a 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award
from Furious Flower, and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History
Award, January 25, 2018, in Detroit, Michigan. His writings have been translated into
over 30 languages.
Seven Stories Press will publish a new collection of Troupe’s poetry, titled Duende
Poems: 1966–Now in the fall of 2021 and his memoir, The Accordion Years the
following year in 2022. A major motion pictured based on Troupe’s memoir, miles &
me, is also scheduled to go into production in the fall of 2021. Currently, Quincy Troupe
is poetry editor of A Gathering of the Tribes and contributing editor to Konch, two online literary journals.
