Welcome to The Green Edit, your go-to destination for green, high-performance beauty. Cathy Tolpigin is an organic makeup artist, founder and curator of The Green Edit, a digital media platform, event series and podcast that shines a light on the best in clean, sustainable, cruelty-free beauty and lifestyle brands and products. Today I’m joined by journalist and beauty writer Emily Algar. Emily is a contributor at Byrdie, Grazia, Harper’s Bazaar and has worked in the industry for almost seven years. She also works with us at The Green Edit to help bring some of our digital content offering to life. Today Emily is taking over the mic to help me share a little more about The Green Edit and why I am so passionate about celebrating truly natural, ethical and sustainable brands and helping people make the switch to clean beauty. As a professional makeup artist who only uses clean, ethical products personally and on clients, I am passionate about making green beauty mainstream. I aim to inspire and educate without greenwashing, helping The Green Edit community to navigate the space with transparency.Over the years, I have researched, tried and tested hundreds of beauty and lifestyle products to find the best high performance, ethical and clean options on the market. The best of the best is what earns a place on The Green Edit. The Green Edit is a platform dedicated to explaining and promoting the best in clean, sustainable, cruelty-free beauty and lifestyle products. We do this through two main channels: our digital content offering, and an in-person event series held in Sydney (pandemic permitting).  The Green Edit mission is simple: to explore and unpack the idea of clean beauty. We shine a light on brands that are sustainable, cruelty-free and formulated with high quality, clean ingredients. But we don’t want to lose out on efficacy or experience. In essence, we want to inspire you to re-think your routine; to discover cleaner options and new favourites.   We also take a curious, open-minded approach to our work, and want our community to do the same. We ask questions, facilitate conversations and most importantly, are always evolving. On our digital platform, you’ll find interviews with brand founders, expert commentary and lots of product recommendations (as tested by us).  We also have our Loved By The Green Edit Stamp and Recognised By The Green Edit stamp. Both stamps entail a certain set of criteria as mapped out by our founder, wellness experts, formulators and team of editors. They’re designed to communicate our definition of clean, and to help you, our reader, make an informed decision about the products you buy. Loved By The Green Edit Stamp Criteria:https://www.thegreenedit.com.au/lovedbythegreeneditstampRecognised By The Green Edit Stamp Criteriahttps://www.thegreenedit.com.au/recognisedbythegreeneditstamp We don’t subscribe to greenwashing or fear mongering. We just want to give our community the tools they need to make an informed decision.
