Isaac Watts was a prolific hymn writer and brilliant Bible student.  Many of his hymns were written for Above Bar Congregational Church in Southampton, England, while in his late teens and early twenties.  In 1707, his Hymns and Spiritual Songs was published.  His impact has been felt long after his death, as witnessed by the part his music played in winning to Christ the author of a new generation of hymns and gospel songs and the impact we experience today.
