Dong Lien is from Winnipeg, Manitoba. He enters his 16th season in professional baseball with the Philadelphia Phillies. He is the Major League Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science from the University of Manitoba and earned his Master’s degree in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania during the 2010 season. During his time at the U of M, he worked as student athletic therapist with Men’s Basketball and the Winnipeg Goldeyes Baseball (Northern League.)Professionally Dong began his professional career in 2005 as MiLB Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Clearwater Threshers (High-A). He was promoted to MiLB Coordinator in 2007, and MLB Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2008. He took a step-back to MiLB level Lehigh Valley (2014-2017) before returning as the Major League Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in 2018.
