#49: Joey Lichter

This year Joey Lichter came back to the Last Annual Vol State 500k for redemption, and he did it! He made it to "the Rock" with a total of 7 days, 17 hours, 3 seconds!!! This was far better from his 2018 appearance where Joey had to pull the plug at 60 Miles, just two days into his journey. This year he managed to find that inner peace, overcome some brutal conditions to his feet, and the randomness of legit sleep. 
The Vol-State 500k is a journey, an adventure, and an exploration of inner space. It begins with a ferry ride across the Mississippi River, from Missouri to Kentucky, and finishes at “the Rock,” high atop Sand Mountain in technically Northeast Georgia. However, you spend the bulk of your miles with the journey across Tennessee! 
Joey has done races like the Icarus, Death at DuPuis, Picnic Island Ultras, Skydive Ultra, The Georgia Jewel, the Trident, and the Vero Beach Octopus Ultra!
